Sporting looks combine with economy in the shape of this Renault Megane coupé. Registered at the end of March 2010 and finished in an inoffensive shade of grey with a complimentary grey interior, the car has covered just 101,000 miles from new. The Megane is in generally good condition all round, there are a few age-related marks here and there in the bodywork but nothing which detracts too much from the overall appearance. But it does also benefit from the galvanised metal that the French finally started making their cars out of, after they belatedly realised that pretty much everything they'd produced before the 90's was a total rot box.... And yet the performance, whilst maybe not scintillating, is certainly more than adequate and, once on the move, is nicely refined and relaxed in top gear. The steering is nicely weighted and reasonably responsive, the seats and suspension are geared slightly more towards comfort than most, albeit not as much as some French cars are, and the dash is a curious mix of digital and analogue gauges. One useful feature is the under-floor storage bins in both the driver and passenger footwells, as well as one in the boot.
