Description
The Nissan Micra has been around since 1993 and since then has developed an enviable reputation as a reliable, dependable and practical supermini. Until the current model launched in 2017, though, it wasn't a particularly desirable one. Launched in March 2017, the fifth-generation Micra features a totally different look to its predecessor – and indeed, most of its rivals. It's sharp-edged and stylish, with a bold face and sloping roofline making it stand out from the crowd. Step up to higher trim levels and you can have two-tone paint or stylishly large alloy wheels, too. Although there is an N-Sport model, it's not a hot hatch like the Ford Fiesta ST, Hyundai i20 N or Volkswagen Polo GTI. Instead, it's an appearance pack that makes do with the Micra's sole available engine. Like most rivals it's a 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder, although there's only one power output. You can have an automatic gearbox, though. Like most rivals these days the Micra is only available with five-doors, boosting practicality. Even so, we wouldn't say this is the car's forte with plenty of rivals being better bets for rear seat space. At least the boot is a decent size. 12V power point front, 16"alloy wheels, 2 height adjustable rear headrests, 3 cupholders, 4 speakers, 5"TFT driver information centre, 60/40 split folding rear seat, 7"touch screen, ABS+EBD+Brake assist, Adjustable speed limiter, Anti-theft immobiliser, Automatic activation of hazard warning lights, Automatic headlights, Aux-in socket, Bluetooth system, Body coloured door handle inserts, Boot carpet, Boot light, Chrome interior door handles, Crash sensor, Cruise control, Door mirror integrated indicators, Driver's seat manual height adjust, Driver/Front Passenger airbags, Driver/passenger sunvisors and vanity mirrors, Electrically adjustable door mirrors, ESP + ASR traction control + CSV understeer control, Forward emergency braking, Front and rear curtain airbags, Front and rear door pockets with bottle
