In stock with us here at RFH Classics we have this magnificent time warp 2nd Generation 1985 (B) Renault 5 GTL with just 31,910 miles. Sometimes the use of time warp is inappropriate but not in the case of this example. The car was registered new by Renault Main Agents B & S (Bucknall) Ltd for a Mrs Wood of Stoke on Trent and from there this remarkable car has led a very interesting existence and comes to the market today with that amazingly low mileage. Now representing a very rare car, the Renault 5 was once a common sight on the road however they are now seldom seen and virtually never in such incredible condition. This delightful Renault 5 is finished in the optional Grenada Metallic and the deep rouge paintwork still boasts a remarkable polished shine. The body panels, well known for being very thin, are remarkably clean with just a couple of faint stone chips to the front and the others all being straight and without damage. The large plastic polyester bumpers and trims sections are unblemished and help confirm this cars low mileage and cherished previous ownership. The interior trim is equally as clean as the exterior on this well specified GTL and features Montrace Petale shaped front seats that have a tweed cloth seat facing which are spotlessly clean and show virtually no wear, as does the rest of the interiors carpets, door cards and headlining. The dashboard is unmarked and all the switches operate perfectly with a period Philips 764 Radio Cassette finishing off the dash in correct style. It is worth pointing out that the usually broken or damaged parcel shelf is perfect and the rear window features two original Renault stickers along with a Renault emblem on the rear number plate that completes the period features of the car. Under the reverse opening bonnet sits the 1397cc 4 cylinder petrol engine that features electronic ignition and helps produce the 60hp power output of the engine that delivers its power via the 5 speed manual gearbox. In the office we have comprehensive history file for the car that contains an original plastic A5 wallet with the original service book, handbooks, supplements and dealership literature. I addition the history folder contains many invoices and receipts for service and maintenance work carried out throughout the life of the car as well as previous MOT certificates. An original sales brochure for the car helps confirm the spec of the car is completely correct. Fitted to this car there are the optional Renault 5 Monaco 13 alloy wheels which we are led to believe were a dealer fit accessory as were the genuine mudflaps and optional rear spoiler the car features.
